NEWS NOV/DEC '98
Membership Meeting
As usual, we will combine the November and December meetings into
one --
DECEMBER 3 at the NRA Headquarters at 8PM.
Light Dinner will be provided. Ed Wages--please note the date
change. the program be presented by Ed Costello and will be
about "Broomhandle" Mauser Pistols. So, bring yours in
for show and tell. It should be interesting. It has been
ten years or so since Ed made a presentation about them. Don't
miss edition number 2. Also, note that Carlos Davilla will be
presenting the program -- this time about Smith and Wessons.
Carlos works for SW as manager of their exports. It should be
quite an interesting evening. The January meeting will revert
back to the 4th Thursday of the month -- the 28th.
Product Recall
O.H. McKagen sent work that should interest any black powder
hunters about a potentially serious problem. If you hunt with or
know someone who does with an in-line CVA Muzzleloading Rifle, please
be aware that a serious injury resulted from an exploding rifle.
Check the serial number on the barrel opposite the side of the
bolt. If the last two digits are 95 or 96, you should not shoot
it. Call 770-449-4687 and obtain a replacement barrel.
New Members
Please welcome James R. Leahigh and Paul Martin, Kristopher Glasier,
Eric Emerson, Harvey Needed, Larry Wright, Arthur Kelly, Jim Bird Jr.
as our newest members. We will try again to vote on Jaff Baggan
and John Morris at the upcoming meeting. Either they or
their sponsors need to be present. Photo ID badges will be made
at the upcoming March show.
Dues
Dues increase to $20.00 for annual and $100.00 for life in
January. If you wish to upgrade your present annual membership
to life, you may add $75.00 to your paid up dues this year and become
a Life Member before the price increase.
Welcome Back To Hal Prucha
Hal has rejoined us. He is now retired and, hopefully, will
now have time to be active again.
MIA Members
I need good addresses on John Wozniac and Randy M. Fisher, both of
the USMC. If you know where these guys are, please let me know.
Hope to see you in December. Be careful hunting and have a
Happy Thanksgiving.
